  1. How many units (cohorts) made up the Roman Legion? 5000 men
  2. What were cohorts divided into? Each legion was divided up into ten cohorts, not of equal size: the first cohort was the largest and contained about 800 men, the others about 500 men each. In addition each legion had 120 horsemen who acted as scouts and dispatch riders.

Only Roman citizens could sign up for the army.
They had to be fit.
They were not allowed to marry.
Their armour gave them excellent protection.

Bathing was one of the most common daily activities in Roman culture, and was practices across a wide variety of social classes. Though many contemporary cultures see bathing as a very private activity

The Romans loved washing and bathing and rather it being done in private, the Romans built magnificent public bath houses in towns across their empire. Rich villa owners would had their own baths in their homes.

The strigil is a tool for the cleansing of the body by scraping off dirt, perspiration, and oil that were applied before bathing. In Ancient Greek and Roman cultures. The strigil was primarily of use to men, specifically male athletes.
